Throw the ball
Problem 12
How far can we throw a ball, if we throw it with the velocity $20ms^{-1}$ from the height of $2m$. Assume that the mass of the ball is $0.2kg$, the drag force on the ball is
$$ F = C v^2 $$
for $C=0.001kgm^{-1}$ and the gravitational acceleration is $g = 9.80665ms^{-2}$. We also assume that the ball is a point object.
Note: It does not make sense to calculate the result of this and similar problems to 10 significant points. The physical quantities are rarely give to such a precision. For the sake of exercise however, you have to do it anyway, if you want to solve this problem.
